Turnips are another one of those vegetables that sometimes people turn the noses up at. I used to be one of them. But, they really haven't had them cooked in a delectable way. They are super delicious! Even the green tops! They have tons of benefits to them; lots of vitamins and minerals. They can be cooked or eaten raw tossed in a salad.

How To Store

Chances are we will give you the turnips with the greens on. When you get home, snap off the leaves and store separately in a produce bag. The leaves continue to pull moisture from the turnip and will wilt it pretty fast. Turnip roots will keep in the refrigerator for 2 weeks. Freeze turnip roots by washing, peeling, and cutting them into half inch cubes, then blanching in boiling water for two minutes. Chill quickly in cold water and freeze immediately in freezer bags. They should keep fine for 8 to 10 months.
